要建立一个实用的应用系统,必须要经过概念结构设计、规格结构设计和程序设计3个主要过程.这3个过程前后呼应、互相制约、互相补充.文内重墨介绍了塔里木盆地钻井地质数据库建库过程中沉积岩石代码标准文件的制备,古生物翻译软件的设计,直视界面的设计,特殊字段的设置和4GL语言的应用．

Three basic processes are required to set up a practical application system,i.e.the designings of concept structure,normalized structure and programs.They usually take concerted actions,and condition and complement each other.The paper described the preparation of the code standard file,the designing of translator software of paleobiology,and the designing of visual interface for sedimentary rocks,as well as the set-up of special field and the application of 4GL language,which are involved in a set-up of data base.
