Takimg Machang crude oil and source rock extracts in Gegangji Sag, southern Dongpu Depression as research objects, the saturated hydrocarbon gas chromatography, saturated and aromatic hydrocarbon gas chromatography mass spectrometry analysis were carried out, their molecular geochemical characteristics were analyzed, and the oil-source correlation of Machang crude oil was made. The results show that the distribution of tricyclic terpenoids in "Machang high point" high abundance source rocks and Machang crude oil presents C23 dominant normal distribution, and the homohopane series presents stepped distribution. In the distribution of steranes, both source rocks and crude oil samples show the C27 dominant of L-model distribution. The composition of triarylsteranes also shows that Machang crude oil is closely related to the high abundance source rocks of "Machang high point" in Gegangji Sag. The characteristics of the above saturated and aromatic hydrocarbons reveal that Machang crude oil is obviously more likely to come from the high abundance source rocks in the key source beds of "Machang high point". The characteristics of oil source correlation suggest that the reservoirs in the south of Dongpu Depression have significant hydrocarbon supply characteristics of the main source rocks with high abundance.
