Abstract
According to the seismic, drilling, core physical observation data, the characteristics of fracture development and sedimentary facies distributed in eastern Wushi Area were finely implemented, the relationship between faults and sedimentary facies was clarified, and the mode of fault combination controlling sand body deposition was illustrated. The results show that the Liushagang Formation in eastern Wushi Area developed fault combination in which faults are inclined in same or reverse direction, the corresponding specific forms are breaking channel, fault trough, strike slope and slope-break zone; along faults strike, sandstone grain size becomes finer, and sorting becomes better; close to the faults, the thickness of sand body is large and the sand grain size is coarse; the faults has obvious control effect on the distribution of sand body. The mechanism of faults controlling sand body deposition is obvious, fault activity leads to the rise of upward plate, the decline of downthrow plate. Also, along the trend of these faults, sand body that preferentially chooses the weak position converges from the raised to the low.
