Abstract
Forming stable and level displacement interface can avoid drilling mud retention in the annular narrow clearance and slurry contamination, which will improve cementing bond quality. In this paper, we firstly analyzed the main affecting factors on displacement interface. Then, we introduced three present research methods of displacement interface and their advantages and disadvantages. Finally, in order to improve the accuracy of displacement interface studies, we gave some future researches and recommendations: It is necessary to improve the mechanism formation of steady displacement interface based on the 2D Hele-Shaw model and combining with 3D numerical simulation method and experimental method. Furthermore, providing a design method and criterion that are beneficial for forming a stable displacement interface for reference during cementing is needed. In order to facilitate the on-site applications, a useful software for designing displacement parameters should be developed as soon as possible.
