Abstract
Usually, the heavy oil reservoir with thick layer has high crude oil viscosity, buried depth, poor reservoir fluid mobility and low degree of oil producing. THAI (Toe to Heel Air Injection) technology is an effective EOR technology. The development parameters of row well pattern were optimized by numerical simulation. It is shown that the sensitivity strength of influencing factors in the order were the horizontal section length of production well, gas injection volume, well spacing and the distance from injection well to production well. On the basis, the developing effect of different well pattern in heavy oil reservoir with thick layer was further studied. The results show that gas breakthrough will happen as the burning front moves forward. The oil production rate and recovery factor for Scheme 2 are superior to others. Layer thickness is one of the important factors affecting heat transfer. The development effect of vertical injection well is better than that of horizontal injection well.
