Abstract
Steam stimulation is the key development method of heavy oil and super-heavy oil development in Shengli Oilfield. Yet the disadvantages of such a method is obvious with high steam injecting pressure, low steam volume fraction, low recovery efficiency after the stimulation. The interfacial tension between oil and water is the key influencing factor that affects the recovery efficiency. The mahogany sulfonate made from stock oil of Shengli Oilfield is applied to the EOR operation of heavy oil reservoir, which is a kind of complex anionic surfactant and it can greatly reduce the interfacial tension between crude oil and formation water. The formation of the mahogany sulfonate system is determined and the temperature stability and salt resistance performances are evaluated, which show that the sulfonates system is better adapted to the development needs of Shanjiasi Oilfield and the salt resistance and temperature stability can both achieve production requirements. Core displacement tests show that the mahogany sulfonate system can lower the steam injecting pressure and increase core recovery efficiency. Field tests in 5 wells of Shanjiasi Oilfield in 2007 showed an average oil output of 8.5 tons and oil gas ratio of 0.311. Good effect has been obtained.
