X ing23 fau lt-block is a sm all heavy o il reservo ir that is
be ing developed in Jilin o ilfield cu rrently. It is lo ca ted in the
east o f Lux iang structura l be lt of Y itong graben and it is
v ic inity to the fau lt of basin􀀁 s rim. Th is pape r beg ins from
tectonic ana ly sis and tries to find out the reason which the
heavy o il was perfo rmed on this fault-block. The conclus ion
w as m ade that the struc tura l e leva tion o f the bas in􀀁 s r im and
severa l tim es o f tecton ization caused the v iscos ify ing action o f
conv entiona l o il ow ing to bacter ia l degradation in its
secondary m igration. The sm a ll heavy oil reservo ir o ccurs w ith
the deeper conventiona l rese rvo ir. Th is type o f reservo ir wh ich
is located nea r the rim o f basin w ill be the nex t ta rget of
prospec tion in the fu ture.
