W ith the deve lopm en t and the w ide applica tion of a ir
dr illing techno logy, it is necessary to conc lude, expound and
summ ar ize it. Th is a rtic le describes the air dr illing techno logy
and its application. The a ir drilling is m ainly app lied to the
m idd le􀀁low pressure fo rm ation. It concrete ly introduces the
advantages and d isadvantages o f a ir drilling. The a ir drilling
m ay la rge ly enhance the drilling speed, shorten the drilling
tim e, decrease the dr illing cost. The technology, however,
needs expensive surface equ ipm en ts. A brief descr iption of
the a ir dr illing is m ade in the paper in m atte rs need ing
attention, sa fety technica l m easures and pure a ir drilling
techno logy processes.
