The lower submember Es2 in Machang area of Dongpu
depression was deposited in the atrophic epoch of the basin ,
formed by alluvial strata ,divided into two Ⅳ- grade T - R cyclic
sequences which are equivalent two Ⅳ - grade global climate
change cyclic sequences. Each of sequences consists of base - level
transgressive system tract and base - level regressive system tract ,
which can be traced and correlated in the studied area. In this
article , the flood plain depositional system is put forward ,
which indicates the base - level uplift . When the base level
gradually uplift ,push - transporting deposition and suspend -
transp orting deposition dominates the sedimentary types. Base
- level transgressive system tract is built by the layers which
gradually become thinner upward ,and ,at the same time ,the
thick wide flood plain depositional system and few isolated
river channel sandstone grow in the transgressive system
tract. When the base level gradrally lower , push -
transporting deposition of sand - grit dominate the
sedimentary types ,and base - level regressive system tract is
built by composite deposition of river channel sandstone. The
braided river channel deposit grow widely.
