Abstract
With the increase of national energy demand, salt-cavern gas storage plays a more and more important role in emergency peak shaving and strategic energy reserves of natural gas. The design of the operation parameters of gas storage controls the working gas volume and daily peak shaving capacity of gas storage and is the key factor influencing the economic benefit of gas storage. A 3D geomechanics model was established by taking Well H1 of Jintan gas storage as the background, to perform optimization design and numerical simulation calculation on the lower operation pressure limit and gas production rate of the cavity. What’s more, the stability evaluation index was introduced to check the calculation results, and the influences of the injection/production parameters of salt-cavern gas storage on the cavity safety during injection and production were discussed. It is indicated that cavity stability increases with the increase of the lower operation pressure limit and decreases with the increase of the gas production rate, and the interlayers and the flat part at the cavity top are the weak positions of cavity safety. The research results provide the reference for the design of the injection/production parameters of salt-cavern gas storage.
