A PRELIMINARY APPLICATION OF SEISMOLOG1C STRATIGRAPHY TO HUANGHUA DEPRESSION
In addition to the structural style, there are a lot of information about stratigraphy and sedimentology which hold in stock in the seismic sections. By making full use of them we can interprete what do they imply in the sense of stratigraphy and sedimentology. To this point it will be contributive as to make the depositional sequence subdivision properly, to recognize the sedimentary enviroument; to establish the depositional system; and to predict the potential oil trend in basins where well control is limited. Moreover the seismic stratigraphy method combine the characteristics of both stratigraphy and tectonic together simultaneously, it will be of great immediate significance for expounding the formation of basin as well as the development of mechanism.By taking advantage of the seismic stratigraphy method, the authors tried to make a reconsideration to basic concepts of the sedimentary enviroument of Eogene sediments in the Huanghua depression. Its results essentially are:1 ) Defining the contact relationship among each number and readjusting several boundary lines of them.2 ) Measuring the relative rise and fall of the sea level from Eocene to Oligocene semi-quantitatively.3) Defining the provenance of the fan-delta of Dongying member in Banqiao and Jangjiahe area and the delta of Shahejie member 1-2 by way of analysing the direction of palaeocurrents.4 ) The alluvial fan-delta (structural delta of Caskill type) is the main framework facies of the sediment in this area whereas the roll-over anticline caused by gravitational slumping and shale diapir structure are the prominent tectonic feature in this area.
