Abstract
In China, geophysical prospecting for petroleum is confronted with new situation, new tasks and, it still has a long way to go, compared with advanced world level. After making an appropriate analysis, the paper puts emphasis upon 10 problems in recent development of geophysical prospecting for petroleum which require a urgent devotion of major efforts to solving them. Those problems are mainly: (1) overall planning; (2) digitalization of data acquisition; (3)integrated consideration of structure findings-tratigraphic lithology-direct searching for oil and gas; (4) of all three key links-data acquisition, data processing, and final results interpretation in seismic work, the last is regarded as the most important; (5) data processing; (6) making full use of previous data; (7) to develop comprehensive new geophysical exploration techniques; (8) research work; (9) technical equipment; and (10) technical training. Comments and suggestions on what policy, what measures for further development and what means to deal with the problems mentioned above should be taken are also presented in the paper.
