Abstract
In recent twenty years, mineral resources investigation and regional geology-geophysical integrated survey were conducted in South China Sea, which is supervised by the South China Sea Headquaters of Geological Survey, Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources. The oil/gas exploration is taken as the major target of the investigation and survey. Great successes were achieved one after another. In this paper, the course of the development of marine geophysical techniques in China and the application of these techniques to many of the areas concerning the geology of South China Sea were reviewed and recounted in a new light.
