计算机的智能化是世界各国专家和学者十分瞩目的研究课题。它的研制成功将把当代的计算机技术推进到具有划时代意义的新阶段。本文扼要地介绍了人工智能与专家系统的特点,并对其发展和应用状况作了概述。大量的应用实例表明,专家系统作为人工智能的一个分支对人工智能的开发起着促进的作用。文中通过对我国目前地震勘探现状的分析,阐述了人工智能与专家系统在地球物理勘探领域中的应用前景,指出开发地震资料解释专家系统,实现资料解释自动化是加快我国油气勘探步伐的重要途径。

The intellectualization of the computer is such a topic that the professional specialists all over the world focus their attention upon it day and night. Its realization will, of course, push the computing technique to a new stage of epoch-making. In this paper, the features and the characteristics of the artificial intelligence and the expert systems are introduced in brief. Also,introduced here is its developments and application. It has been proved through its application that, as a branch of the artificial intelligence, the expert system plays a very important role in the development of the artifical intelligence. According to the present situation of the seismic survey in our country, the introduction of the expert system with the function of artificial intelligence and the realization of the automatic interpretation are very important in speeding up the steps of the oil/gas exploration of our country.
