A special reflection mode of shallow gas rescrvoir - flat bright spot is presentcd here whichis independent of bright spot and dim spot. Then its forming mechanism and characteristics arediscussed in detail. It is pointed out in this paper that this special reflection mode existsubiquitously in shallow gas reservoirs within old strata. And this mode is an important larget forgas exploration to which much attention should be paid.
