Abstract
The understandings about Structure Benbutu in Yanqi basin has changed drastically at different stages from renaissance to detailed survey and development evaluation and to implementation of development scenario due to velocity pitfalls. That is from a complete faulted anticline originally to faulted anticline and faulted nose blocks finally and at the same time the details of the structure have also changed substantially. This makes the development scenario difficult to carry out. This problem can be solved effectively by combining 3D pre stack depth migration data with diplogs. Drilling tests show that the maximum absolute error is 7m and maximum relative error is 0.29% for the precision of structure map. It therefore meets the demand of development scenario and can speed up the development of this area.
