Following the rapid progress of exploration and production in block X of Columbia, the structural traps such as faulted anticlines
and fault-nose structures have been identified and put into production.Discovery of lithologic traps now become the key issue
concerning the prospect of oil and gas in block X of Columbia. However, previous seismic work was focused on structural
targets, which caused great difficulties in lithologic traps characterization based on original seismic data. Therefore, the technique
of iterative integration of seismic data processing & interpretation oriented to geological targets” was proposed.Based on the
reservoir characteristics in block X,we performed lithologic traps prediction and targets evaluation by exploring the research
mode of mutual penetration and iterative progress between seismic data processing & interpretation.According to the research
result based on this technique, well W4 was deployed and recorded high-yield industrial oil flow, which verified the effectiveness
of the technique and extended a new direction for future E&P deployment in this block.
