The synthesis of didodecyl carbonate was studied by transesterification progress using dimethyl carbonate and lauryl alcohol as the starting materials, and the prepared organotin compound as catalyst. Results indicated that the best synthetic condition were: the mole ratio of bay alcohol to dimethyl carbonate 2, heating temperature of 120 ℃, reaction time 3 h, mass fraction of catalyst to materials was 5% under atmospheric pressure using organotin as catalyst. Under the optimal synthetic conditions, the yield of DDC was 55.57%, the selectivity was 74.25%, and the total yield of carbonic acid esters of laurel was 75.16%.
