Identifying fault-karst reservoirs in middle-lower Ordovician carbonates

顺北地区断溶体油藏已成为塔里木盆地油气产量新的增长点。塔里木盆地西南玉北地区作为有利的油气聚集区之一,前期部署在构造高部位的YB1井和YB1-2井获得工业油流,该地区是否存在其它类型的钻探目标是目前的勘探难点。为此,首先开展了玉北地区构造特征分析,认为本区具有走滑断裂发育的构造特征;然后利用实际钻井和地震资料,建立了玉北地区储层地质模型,通过地震波场正演模拟分析了逆冲断层、高角度断裂以及断溶体的地震响应特征;在此基础上建立有利储层地震识别模式;最后利用本征值相干、纹理属性、地震振幅变化率属性开展了中下奥陶统碳酸盐岩储层预测。结果表明,研究区发育与NNE、NE向断裂相关的缝洞型储集体,有利区面积达47.85km2,储集体特征与顺北断溶体特征高度相似,该储集体的识别为玉北地区下一步勘探目标优选提供了思路。

The fault-karst reservoirs in the Shunbei area are new key targets to boost the oil and gas production in the Tarim basin,China.The Yubei area,located in the southwestern part of the basin is one of the favorable oil and gas accumulation areas.As an industrial oil flow was achieved in wells YB1 and YB1-2 in high structural locations,finding other types of drilling targets in the area is now a crucial task.In this work,the structural characteristics of the Yubei area were analyzed to quantify the extension of strike-slip faults.Next,using drilling and seismic data,a geological model of the area was established.The seismic responses of thrust fault,high-angle fault,and fault-karst reservoirs were then analyzed using a forward modeling of the seismic wave field,so as to establish a seismic identification model for favorable reservoirs.Finally,attribute detection techniques—such as the eigenvalue coherence,texture attribute,and change rate of seismic amplitude—were used to predict reservoirs in the middle-lower Ordovician carbonate formations in the area.The results showed that fault-karst reservoirs related to NNE and NE trending faults are developed,with a favorable area up to 47.85km2.These reservoirs have characteristics similar to the fault-karst reservoirs in the Shunbei area.The proposed method provides a reference to optimize the next exploration target in the Yubei area.
